Call for Volunteers For the 7th Annual Matthew Shepard March!

Publicity teams will begin covering the city and suburbs this weekend, publicizing the 7th Annual Matthew Shepard March & Rally, set for 8 pm, Saturday, October 8th at the corner of Halsted & Roscoe, Chicago. Whether you are available this weekend or later, please call Andy at 773-209-1187 or email LGBTliberation@aol.com if you would like to volunteer to help out.

To give you an idea of WHY we are organizing this year's march, here is text from this year's poster:

Equality For ALL!

Gay people demand full equal rights.

Lesbian, gay, bi and trans people are not citizens in the United States.

Citizens, by definition, have equal rights.

Eighteen states have now passed constitutional amendments banning equal marriage rights for our community, and thus branding us as non-citizens. More states, including Wisconsin and Indiana, may fall soon.

Not since the days of legalized segregation have states passed constitutional amendments branding entire communities as non-citizens. That racism was partially dismantled only thanks to the massive outpouring of people into the streets of the nation through the great Civil Rights Movement of the 1950's and '60's.

With all three branches of the federal government increasingly hostile to LGBT rights, we urgently need such a movement today. Please help us take the first steps towards building such a movement at the 7th Annual Matthew Shepard March For LGBT Rights.

8 PM, Saturday, Oct. 8th

Corner of Halsted & Roscoe, Chicago
