GLN MARRIAGE RIGHTS NEWS

Help begin building a real movement to win equal marriage rights in Illinois!

This Saturday, Demand That Mike Madigan REALLY Support Equal Marriage Rights

12 Noon in front of his district office, 6500 S. Pulaski Road, Chicago

Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan is the most powerful politician in Springfield. He is also the #1 reason why Illinois's equal marriage rights bill failed this session.

With his huge campaign war-chest and alliances with Illinois's business elite, Madigan rules his Democratic Party super-majority in the House of Representatives with an iron hand, using it to ram through unpopular measures that favor his wealthy friends.

But when it came to passing our state's equal marriage rights bill this May – a measure favored by Illinoisans by a nearly 2-to-1 margin – he was missing in action. He refused to put any political capital behind it.

This Saturday at 12 noon sharp, please join in a protest at Mike Madigan's district office, 6500 S. Pulaski Road, Chicago. Help us demand that Madigan use his political muscle on something good for a change – equal rights for all Illinoisans!

Please join the Facebook event and help spread the word!

To get there by the CTA, take the Orange Line train to the "Pulaski," then take the Pulaski #53A bus south to 6500 S. Pulaski Road. For more public transportation go here.
